Simon Anton Diego Baena

Palmyra

"Asesinado Por El Cielo"

Palmyra

And the days separate
the eyes
from its wounds

you find a child gathering
the ancient footprints
that child carving
his own image
on the rock

the silence festers
like shrapnel

the light has enough room
to navigate
now

the vulture is present
at all points
of departure

"Asesinado Por El Cielo"

but
the sky is just
a canvas of diamonds

the daggers
are here on the ground
